I'm interested in getting some opinions, i finally have come around to making the plunge and hooking my truck up a little. I pretty much know how its going to go, but i want to see what people who have more wheeling exp in this area think. I have no desire to get in to rock crawling, i want something pretty versitile, in about a year and a half when i leave the army i'll probably be headed out west and plan to keep this truck. Once i do that i'd like to get in to some expeditions west style wheelin'.

I'm looking in to sliders and a custom bumper now, those are pretty def.
I'm going to step up to 265/75R16's for now. (this doesn't not require a lift)
now heres where the question comes in, which do you think would be more benifical to start with.
1. 2.5-3.5 coil over / custom pack with new shocks lift
or
2. ARB rear air locker and snorkel
or
3. ARB Rear locker and Toytec lift
or
4. some other combo in the same price bracket i haven't thought about.

I was thinking about ARB Front and rear lockers, but arb doesn't have the front listed for the 05 yet.

This all depends on what your plans are for the truck, If you are going to stay off the road alot, lockers are probably the first step. You will be surprised how many lifted truck you will be able to follow with just lockers. Of course the reverse is true if you are going to stay on the road 99.9% of the time, do the lift and tires and later down the road when you feel that the absence of lockers is slowing you down off road then do it. It is all about personal preference and what you plans are for the truck.

I don't have shit for a commute, so most my road driving is getting to trails (this recently replaced driving to the track)

In my opinion, snorkels are worthless unless you pain on waterproofing all the electronics including moving the computer higher.

I would do the ARB locker and go Cornfed Spacer lift (http://www.cornfedsuspension.com). Ex. the basic 3" lift is $180. And then he can hook you up on shocks.

Don't do a snorkle. They lok cool and all, but as far as being functional, I wouldn't do one again.

IMO if you plan on goin out west and dont want to get into rock crawling, spend the $$$ on a nice coilover lift (camburg, donohoe, etc) and get some new rear leaf packs, not AAL's, not multi-leaf AAL's, but full leaf packs, id suggest deaver's, if your not getting into rockcrawling yer probly never gonna SAS the thing so some high quality rebuildable coilovers is the way to go for the lift, for the ARB id say go for it, its either an ARB or a lockrite and the ARB is def the best option there, also this way when they do come out with one for the front, all you'll need is the locker

if you read this board at all you already know my opinion on a snorkel

I give another vote to Turner's suggestions for a left coast truck. His suggestions even work for our end of the world for a general use truck. Also, don't discount rock crawling on either coast until you've tried it. You don't have to go to extremes to bounce off a few boulders. Come up to RC for the Fall Colors ride and we'll show you some rocks you can handle like you are. It will give you a taste of what you could do locked and lifted, if you choose to go that route.

Oh, I missed the whole left coast thing. I agree with Armored, listen to Turner and get coil-overs/new leafs with bilstein shocks. Scrap the snorkel and do an ARB locker.
