There is now a 1985 toyota pickup in the yard, one owner, reg cb, bone stock, 30k 22r in it, 190k on truck very minimal rust. New project is beginning. Took the whole interior out today and started cleaning, best part is it only cost 700.00

Bsmi16490,

If you need a extra set of hands to do anything on the pickup let me know, I am not much of a mechanic but I want to learn so I am offering my services...

Sorry for thge slow responses. I have a newborn at the house and had a real nice back injury on friday. But I tell yall whats been going on. The original 85 that we picked up we were well on the way to building. About one week into the build my wife sent me on a Dump run and me and my buddy were bullshitting and I missed the turn. Ended up going the long way and beside the road forsale was a 1984 toyota, 3" body, nasty 33's, nasty interior, but runs and drives like a champ, and NO FRAME ROT. 150k original miles. 800.00. So we bought that one and as of right now the other is most likely going up forsale. Bad new about the new one is a 15 year old kid recieved the truck as a birthday gift and in the span of three months owning it, out a cd player in it and cut the main dash harness to install, then cross the wires and caused a wonderful meltdown, all thats fixed and I replaced the whole interior and it is on the road, but the timing cover and front axle seals are leaking so this saturday we will be back at it. Now that everybodys up to speed, RAY saturday is the day.

There has to be frame rot. You just can't see it.

I know there is some, but now that warrants concern at this time. We are in the process of cleaning the frame and POR-15, ing this week. To slow down whats there.

It's the inside you have to worry about. Feel inside the holes.

Not always, you can get lucky once in a while like I did with my 84 Runner.
I went over every sq in of the frame with a needle scaler to remove the surface rust, no rot just surface rust out side and inside . Now it's all good and the frame is treated inside and out.
