what is the groups thoughts on getting rid of the 2001 supercharged double cab and buying a mid to late 90's Landcruiser. I know parts are high but does anyone here own one or have owned one???

Don't do it man. Your truck is nice as is, aside from those fagtech coilovers. spend a couple bones and you will be set.

Bigger??? You do not need to go any bigger. But then again its all in what you want. You asked for other opinions and I gave you mine. Its your truck do what makes you happy boss.

I haven't owned a Landcruiser but If I were in the market for a newer Toyota I would pick your model doublecab over everything else available. So I say keep the doublecab

Late 90's landcruisers rock, i can't speak for the US domestic ones, but they aren't much different then the ones i drove around africa, except of course the diesel motor. The ones i used rocked, and they were barely modified.

Wheeling the accord is the best idea I have ever heard. I hate that car, but gas is expensive so got to do it. Moe, I did'nt really mean bigger but I defintely need to determine where and what i want to do with the truck. I keep screwing with the supercharger and adding split second controllers. I should have been trying to get rid of the fabtech and get something better. I would be happy to find a stock set of TRD coilovers and call up cornfed. I dont know why I have gotten on this landcruiser kick. So if anybody has a stock set of coilovers I am interested.

Just blue book. It is real tough to get money out of your mods. Better to sell them separtely. Just keep it.

keep it and cut that bitch up. DC's rule and most DC owners dont have the balls to wheel em. i say keep it, build it slow, wheel the dog shit out of it till it looks like my trash, and then take the torch to it. but LC's are sweet too, i luv 80 series, you'll def have a more capable rig in stock form, but IMO you cant loose either way you go. if you do go for the LC, just be prepared to not a have a p/u. havin an area in your vehicle to just throw shit in w/o havin to worry about fuckin up the interior is nice.

also, for some good info on 80 series, call up lance at www.ironpigoffroad.com , he know's LC's, owns an 80 series, and would be able to just give you some general info on em, and let you know what to expect

I'm taking that as a compliment!
I'm with everyone else, keep it until you kill it. Unless you went back to stock, you're probably looking at even less than blue book to sell it. If you really want a LC, wait until the truck note's paid off(if it's not already) and buy one. Then you have two really nice Toys.

I am sure what the plan is now. I drove a 40th anniversary landcruiser yesterday and is was definitely not as impressive as I thought. I knew that they were very heavy but thats not even close to how it felt going down the road. Underpowered is the fist wod that comes to mind, granted I am using a supercharged taco as a comparison, but I have had many different toys and that landcruiser felt like it was even to the 1988 22re w/33's that I had a long time ago. My only issue that I need to get over is I feel bad when I take this truck anywhere off-road. Even on the farm here I try not to use it. I just need one dent to get me over that and then its on lke all the others I have had.

Let me drive it. I'll dent it for you. Get some armor and it will help save it some. Skid plate the hell out of it and wheel. It's going to get some pinstrips on trees. But you can keep the body damage to a min. If you still are worried about it then get a trail rig and roll it like i did last week end.
