I'm getting ready to replace my exhaust and Cat on my '95 w/a 3.0L because I hate my current set up. Currently I'm running a 2 1/4" pipe thru a Dynamax exiting out the rear. My question is would I be opening my exhaust up to much and destroying low end torque by running dual 2" pipes from a "1 in 2 out" Flowmaster. Or should I just replace it with another single 2 1/4" pipe.

I have heard every different opinion on this matter. I have been told and believe that 2 1/4-2 1/2 is max you need on anything unless its super high performance or diesel. I have run 3" duals on a full-size before and it definitetly screwed up the gas mileage, torque couldn't really tell. Just my 2 cents

i run a sigle 2.5" pipe on my 88 4runner with 3.0L. it goes from stock 2" - 2.5" just before the Cat, sounds great, and runs great still.
