I bought this truck last night from DC. It was posted yesterday on Yotatech and I drove 2 hours after work to get it. It is a 1988 toyota 4runner 22re, 4x4, AC, PS, console, and dash clock. Here comes the wierd part. Previous owner passed away and truck was in garage for a very long time. Thats why mileage is 84k. AMAZING. I have all paper work to prove it. Even wierder is that with AC, PS clock and console it has a full vinyl interior. I have never seen this and wierder still the back seat was deleted by special order. It has a package tray mounted where the rear seat goes with toyota part numbers on it. I have absolutely never seen this, Has anyone else.

Sounds like a cool rig. The only thing better would be an '85 in the same condition and with the same mileage.

Yes I have heard of it. There was a post on PBB awhile ago about a guy that got one like that. It seem to be super rare to see em like that though.

I bought one of those trays about 3 years ago off of E-bay for 50 bucks or so. trailtoy (Frank) is the current owner of the tray.

BY the way, Nice Find

My stepdad's 88 had the same trays when he bought it, previous owner wanted no rear seat because he let his dogs run loose in the back. Soon after he got it we took the tray out and put in a seat from a junker. I think we still have it.

I sure would like to have some rear seats. I dont care condition, I do interior work on the side and will by the vinyl to match the inside and recover them. I am watching a set of rear seat belts on ebay so I can at least get my hands on them

Keep a close eye on the junkyards because when toyotas hit the yard they are dived on. I saw this auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/84-89-toyota-4runner-rear-seats-gray-SR5_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33701QQitemZ8032528 805QQrdZ1) on Ebay looks like the guy has some wierd condition to buying them but they look like they are in good shape. If you can't find em anywhere else im sure someone around here has some old seats lay'n around.

You need to take some pics in the DAYLIGHT!! :P

I currently have that shelf in my rig. It's nice, but would be nicer if it came all the way to the front seats. I might still have the back seats, I'll look tomorrow.

I have also seen one 1st gen 4Runner with a U.S. installed rear seat. One piece bottom and back covering in lame vinyl. I think it had something to do with them being cheaper to import with only 2 seats??

If anybody has rear seats here that would be a wonderful thing. This is my 5th 4runner and 13th toyota 4x4. I have watched the junkyards constantly since I was 16. If they come in they are stripped in about 48 hours. Thats why I was hoping someone had taken theirs out here. I will drive wherever I need to get them ASAP.

I've got a set, be a shame to cover them in vinyl, but whatever. $40. They're in southern MD.
