I was thinking I might cut off the IFS that day. But who am I kidding? I probably won't.

My niece's b-day party is Saturday, so maybe I'll swing by your place for a while on the way there.

What are you working on with your '85?

I'm going to hang the 63 chevys, and put the rears to the front. Then weld up some wholes in the frame and floor.

We could go to your place on Sunday, and cut your IFS off.

Fourth post in this thread and I'm already hi-jacking it: Do you know if Big Perv's plasma cutter runs on 115 volt or 230 volt? I'm not looking forward to torching/sawzall-ing/grinding all of that crap off. A plasma would kick ass.

Big pervs is 115 volts. But it does not have the power to buzz off your IFS. Do you have access to a torch?

I was thinking about renting one for a weekend from an equipment rental place, but I haven't looked into it yet.

Yeah, I slept in and then I sat my lazy ass around the house all day. Finally, late on Saturday, I pulled the front diff out (I had pulled the axles shafts a week or two earlier). At this rate I'll have my junk SAS'd by about 2009, give or take a couple years. Now I have motivation though, having a 2wd prerunner sucks.

I don't think I'll make it to your house Ted. But get to work on that rig.
Wanna race to see who finishes their beater slower?

I'd love to come up and help you out Ted, but I can't this weekend. Corinn wants to go camping/wheelin' the following weekend so I need to get my 85 ready. I need to change out the fuel tanks, paint the frame while the tanks out, and swap the tranny's all this weekend. Maybe in a couple weekends I can come up and help you or Beater out if needed. Just keep me informed.

my buddy in MD is cutting his IFS junk off the taco w/a plasma, he is still putting in long hours at the grinder....pay some kid off the street to do it, or import some illegal aliens...no problem, brackets be gone

I guess i'll come over again and help your want to be trail rig. LOL

Dj, You should use por-15 and either spray paint or there top coat stuff. But you need to brace that frame first.

I cleaned the frame as best I could, two coats of POR-15 and Rust-Olium spray as a top coat. I didn't get were the fuel tank tho. I have to change out tanks so I'm going to pay that area this weekend.

How is a 115v plasma not strong enough? They can do up to 3/8". Nothing on a Toyota frame is even close to that thickness.

Jason's plasma cutter is good for sheet metal. You could'nt get very far trying to cut off you the IFS with it.

Man use a torch and cut it. I cut all my stuff off with a alittle plumbers torch set. I ran out of O2 right when the last bracket fell off. I used a air hammer with a chissel bit and broke the OEM welds and finished with a 36grit flap wheel in the grinder. Me and Brad did my most of my swap in a day.

I got the rears done, and the front half done. I need one Ubolt for the passenger side of the truck.

I hope to get it out of the garage tomorrow, so I can clean up.

I am going to do the steering in two weekes.
