Which one? If you talking about the green one then you should ask Paul about his truck. LOL
Kyle i think you should tell us about your truck and put pics up. Then we could put a sticky on it so all would know there greeter. You could lead by example.

RANT ON
is it just me or is this whole post-padding-disguiesed-as-the-mid-atlantic welcome-wagon horse shit gettin tiresome to anyone else?
i mean come on, we have a newbie hangout so that newbs can make thier first post when they feel like, not so someone (who's a newb too) can pad his post count by acting like he gives a shit. this isnt preschool, were not shy 6 year olds on our first day at school who need to be coaxed into telling the class about themselves so they dont feel left out. it was funny the first few time but now im pretty sure its run its course (or at least it has with me) if you'd like an OFFICIAL position in the club, ill let you be the event coordinater. if not, step away from your comp, sit on your hands, and just wait till the newbs post ON THEIR OWN, then if you really must chime in, be the first to welcome then and let it be.

Kyle DOES give a shit, obviously you dont, and yes this isnt preschool, so quit fucking whining about it.

Who said this whole forum was yours to rule as a dicktater?
Showing your ass like you do makes for shitty P.R.
Say what you want, I'll say what I want. Now I expect you'll find some way to ban me or something. Thats sad. Whatever. Rant off.

Yes, but not because of Kyle posting them. I actually appreciate him trying to welcome newbs.
What is bullshit is that people register here, they're welcomed by Kyle, and they still don't ever post a single thing. That's what's getting tiresome.
I think Kyle is doing a fine job.

Turner,
I can understand your logic. There are some folks out there who would post up welcome messages just to pad the number of posts beside their name. That's not why I'm doing this. I could care less about the number beside my name. That exactly why I don't post smart-ass, useless comments in every other thread like some people.
I frequent another local forum that always welcomes EVERY new member in the way I've been doing here. It's been very effective there, and new members actually feel welcome and become quick participents.
Some existing members of TTORA-VA have been not just unwelcoming, but downright rude to new members. I would like to change that environment to make the new guys feel welcome, as they should be. I've met several of the new folks, and am glad to have met each one of them and look forward to wheeling and/or wrenching with them again soon.
I already have an official position, Club Member. That's what I'm doing, being a club member, by welcoming people interested in getting involved. I'd love to see other people post up a welcome when they see someone new has joined the forum; in fact, that would probably be more effective.
You mention I'm a newb, and I am. I've only had my Tacoma for a year and a half or so. However, in that year and a half, I've attended most every event that a sane daily-driver Tacoma owner could, many more than most(including yourself.) I've also posted up several events on my own, including last weekend. I've been wheeling and working on trucks for over 12 years, so I think I just might have a thing or two to contribute, newb to this forum or not.
I don't know if you have a problem with me(we only met at Takeover,) or a problem with new folks to the forum in general. If it's with me, let me know what I did to piss you off, because I probably didn't mean it. If it's with newb's in general, I can't help you there. There will always be new guys. As long as I'm around, I'll continue to encourage them. Every one of us started with a stock truck, and needed some kind of help to get it to where we wanted it. Most of us aren't done yet.
So, yeah, my welcoming posts may get tiresome to you and maybe others. Sorry... But myself, and I feel many others too, DO want to hear about the new guys and their trucks, and also want to invite them to tell us about themselves. The great thing about freedom of speech is you can choose NOT to click on the link for Newbie Hangout if you want.

Turner, I appreciate your reply and your opinion as well. I have my view, and you have yours, it seems we both respect the other's, and that's more than good enough for me. IMO, the matter's done as well. I'm a big fan of agreeing to disagree when warranted, and this seems like a good time for it.
Hope to see you at the next run,
Kyle

Well, I was just sticking up for my friend. A guy whom I know to be a very respectable dude and worth sticking up for. He got me into this wheeling mess, and he's taught me plenty since I had no knowledge beforehand. I find that anyone like that is someone I want to have around as a resource for info to make my rig better and trips a lot more fun. This is all just about wheeling and telling funny stories right? Kyle's not the kind of knob to post something just to pad posts. Whats the point? Is there some kind of 5000 virgins Grand Prize for the winner?
I blew up because I've received the same attitude treatment before for all kinds of childish reasons like being a nOOb, driving a heep, and so on. So I thought maybe thats how I needed to communicate to get my point across. Fight fire with fire ya know?
But, as of now, since everything else seems cool, Im cool. It's all good.
Wheel on!

Damn right! When are you going to get the 4Runner dirty?
Oh yeah, the wife spends 8 hours a week keeping that thing clean.
Seriously though, Tom's the best, and was just posting up to look out for me. I give him crap about his Heep daily, but I will always enjoy wheeling with, and fixing his broke-ass junk.
Thanks Tom,
Kyle

I think what Kyle is doing is great. If somethin like what he is doin will help contribute to bigger and better groups of folks on camping/runs, i'm all for it. After all he had something like 14-15 vehicles last weekend. Best turnout in a a while.
