I went though a lot of water this weekend at RC and my idle after that was all messed up. it would be @ 1500 and rev up to 2000 then back to 1500 for the rest of the day. then just stuck at 2000. today seemed ok, untill my way home from work went up too 2000 and stayed there. im not sure about right now its kinda iffy.....Any ideas on what it could be?

Well i have a code reader, maybe i could meet up depending on how close you are and read and DTC's that my exist in your PCM. other thoughts would be crap got into your IAC (idle are control). Also what year is your truck, there is a lot that can have gotten messed up with out being able to look at some of the sensors there is no way to tell, let me know about the year of your truck and where you live...ish might be to far to drive

well assuming you still have a stock intake
1. Start the engine and let it idle
2. Get a cleaner such as Spray-Nine (it always seems work the best)
3. Make it so it sprays a stream and start cleaning i would recomend using the whole bottle.
4. fill the empty bottle up with water and use that to clean it off, or use a hose with a light mist.
If to much water gets in with the spark plugs it might not start, so leave it running for awile, hose down the underside good, but most of the time dealerships dont voild warenty work if there is a little mud under the truck. i mean if you got a 4X4 and cant use it then what is the point right?
Any way hope this helps, if your engine is at operatating temp. use HOT water to wash off the spray-nine, so you dont crack anything with the cold water

Allright cool, and no I dont have the stock intake, I have the K&N Fipk kit, it was on the truck when I bought it.
But I will go and get some spray nine and see how that works.

Just be VERY VERY carfull that you dont spray any where near the filter, or you might hyra lock the motor

It could be a lot of things. Sounds a lot like the throttle position sensor (TPS) problems that people have with their 22RE engines. If it gets dirty or out of adjustment it'll mess up the idle like that.

I saw this at Takeover with several trucks last year after some serious mud. Most of the trucks that had the problem were stock height, so I'm thinking water got somewhere it shouldn't have.
I kept in touch with the group I ran with and though I'm not sure what the problem ended up being, by the next week, everyone's idle went back to normal and no one complained about it anymore.
If you do find the root of the problem post it up. I'm really curious.
I think you'll be allright.
And I agree with Ted, mud is VERY evil.
