Flat Bed floor (Hey Beater)

I'm trying to decided what thickness to make my flat bed floor . Jason, how thin is the metal on your bed?

I don't know, but I can feel it bend a bit when my fat ass walks on it in the middle where I don't have much support below it. I'll find out how thick it is for you. You wouldn't want anything thicker (unless you use aluminum) because the 5'x5' sheet that I used weighs about 50#.

Mine appears to be 3/32". According to a chart on the inside of my welder, it's a bit bigger than 16 gauge, and smaller than 11 ga.

I'm thinking maybe 14 ga.? It's much closer to 16 than 11.
