Looks really good, Ted! Maybe one day I'll have a floor in my tube bed as well. LOL
You've helped a lot of people build their rigs up over the past couple years. It'd be cool if a few of them could find a little time to come over and help you get some more work done on yours. You're still planning on bringing the '85 for the SE Takeover ride, right?

Looking good. I thought about using mesh for my bed, but at the time I only had a stick welder, and there's no way I was gonna try to weld mesh on with that. I bet the mesh was quite a bit cheaper than plate.
Did you buy shocks yet? What do you have left to get your junk on the road?

Maybe some plastic, and some of the expanded metal on the inside. But, I don't know, I never plan that far ahead.

The shocks come on Monday. I have Monday off, so I can get them mounted. I have tabs, and I'm close to being done. I need to weld the floor pans too.

Lookin' good Ted. When is that piece gonna be ready for the trails?
Big Perv helped me put some sliders on this weekend. I figured out there was no O2 sensor on the truck. Some jackass took it off, and that would cause a check engine light. To fix that, they dissconnected the check engine light.
Anyone want to help me tune this thing up.
Here is the truck with sliders.

Get that thing finished already.
I've got a mess of springs if you need some. I have some bent '88 rears, some stock '85 fronts, some stock '99 Taco rears, a couple random Chevy leaves, and maybe some I'm forgetting.

Cool..I'll get some this weekend. I need to get this thing running right.
I figured out why the check engine light was not working. Some asshat cut the W wire at the computer. I finaly figured this out after going though the FSM. I spliced it, and I can now read check engine codes.
Now that I can read code, that means there are three items to fix.
Ted, looks good. Sucks that the Prior Owner was an asshat and cut some wires, at least you got it all figured out.
I replaced the injectors, the TPS, and two water sensors.

Make sure you have the proper connectors for the new injectors, if you get some. Gadget hooked me up on the connectors.

You may want to replace the cold start injector and that might fix the hard starting.
It could be the air valve or the cold start injector. See the air valve is missing.
http://www.uu4x4.net/albums/album65/IMG_8897.sized.jpg
The air valve acts like a choke at start up.
Plus the old owner plugged some stuff. Does anyone know what should to in the plugged line under the cold start injector.

I started up the truck; there was a gas leak some place. It ran really good, so something had to be wrong. I pulled it all a part again, and made sure it was all-good. I jumpered the fuel pump to get the system pressurized. No leaks. I'll start it up again tomorrow.
I noticed there is a VSV on my truck. But, there is nothing in the FSM about this for the 85 model year. I can't figure out how to get this thing hooked up. Any ideas?
The cold start injector does pass gas :) I need to see it it's being triggered on start up.

No it is connected just below the drivers side seat under the carpet
It goes through the hole under the drivers seat. I have a plug in the kick pannel, that has the proper wire colors for the O2 sensor.

Low speed or low RPMs? Even with the pump and/or box going bad, you should still be able to turn. Sounds like something might be bound up. Are the hubs locked? Broken birf?

I had the hubs unlocked. I can't turn the wheel at stop, or really low speed. It gets better when the truck is moving.

Id say it was the pump. It sounds like it is when you have manual steering. I had a 82 with 33's and manual steering and it was pain to steer at low speeds. If i wasnt moving, i wasnt turning. So, my guess would be the pump. But dont quote me on that

I messed with the steering this morning. It's hit and miss if the truck starts. This morning it was cranky about starting. Yesterday it started on the first try.
Since I was sitting on a pile of snow, I could work the steering with the motor off. There is no binding. I think the power steer pump is starting to go South.
