Well I'm finally welding my sliders on. I got the scab plates welded to the sliders today. No room in the garage for the truck, so I'm now outside, and I'll be switching to flux core wire and putting them on the truck tomorrow unless the air is really calm so I can stick with MIG, which I doubt.
Question for those in the know. The fuel line runs inside the frame rail. Is this something I should worry about, or will it not get hot enough back there to be a concern.
I already know to keep the clamp as close as possible and disconnect the battery. Anything else I should worry about?
TIA,
Kyle

I wouldn't worry. You don't have to disconnect the battery. Keep a fire extinguisher closeby though. If you have any undercoating, that likes to catch fire (not easily though)

Unless you turn up the welder, and blow a hole thought both sides of the frame, the gas line should be OK.

For whatever reason, I was thinking the frame wasn't boxed there and the line was inside a C channel section. It, of course, was inboard of a boxed section, so not a problem.
Thanks.
